About the Hall

Albert Music Hall is a non-profit, volunteer-run organization dedicated to keeping the music, stories, and spirit of the NJ Pinelands alive. No one at the Hall—not the musicians, the board, or the volunteers—gets paid. We do it for the love of music, tradition, and community. You’re welcome to sell your own merchandise in the lobby and you’ll be performing for a supportive, engaged crowd that truly appreciates live music.

What to Expect as a Performer

  • Set Length: You’ll have a 30-minute slot that starts when you walk on stage. This includes setup time, so we recommend a minimal, fast setup.

  • Genres: Our core music includes Bluegrass, Country, Folk, Old-Time/Traditional, Americana, and music rooted in the Pinelands. We also welcome some crossover genres like Rockabilly or Bluesy Folk—if it fits the vibe, we’re open to it!

  • Covers vs Originals: We ask that your set be mostly cover songs – but you’re welcome to include a few originals since part of our goal is to nurture local music. We do hold special shows that are more amenable to original music, so please let us know if you don’t do covers but think you might still be a fit for the Hall.

  • Group Size: We prefer duos or more, but solos will be considered on a case-by-case basis.

  • Instrumentation: Most of our performers are acoustic, but a mix of acoustic-electric guitars are fine. No full drum kits are allowed – a snare, high-hat, cajón, or hand percussion is OK. Keyboards are welcome but remember that extra setup time cuts into your 30-minute window.

Sound & Logistics

  • We provide a full sound system, stage mics, and leads for plug-ins.

  • Check in with the sound booth on arrival.

  • You can access a practice room 30 minutes before your set.

  • We do our best to keep things running smoothly and on time, so please plan accordingly.

Our Audience

Albert Music Hall seats up to 350 people. Our audience has been lovingly called the "audience of gold" — they’re attentive, respectful, and love discovering new talent. If your performance invites them to sing or clap along, even better!

We are family-friendly and open to people of all ages and backgrounds. We ask performers to respect our goal of creating a welcoming, inclusive atmosphere, with a focus on sharing music.

The Pickin’ Shed

During every show, musicians gather in our Pickin’ Shed or on the porch for casual jamming. It’s open to all players, all levels—just bring your instrument and join in! It’s a great place to make friends, form bands, and maybe even get invited to join one of our special Pickin’ Shed Jam Sets on the main stage.

Ready to Join Us?

If you’re interested in performing, send your performer/band name, a brief bio, and links or video samples to booking@alberthall.org. We can’t wait to hear what you do—and maybe welcome you to the Hall!
